Your Source for Formaldehyde Detection

July 8, 2022

Is your facility a major HAP source and has gas turbines added after January 14, 2003? If so, the US EPA is only giving you 180 days to conduct initial stack performance testing to demonstrate compliance with a formaldehyde standard.

On March 9, 2022, the EPA announced that it is lifting the stay for the MACT Subpart YYYY formaldehyde standard by issuing the Final Amendments to Remove a Stay, meaning that new lean-premix and diffusion flame gas turbines located at major sources will need to comply with the 91 parts per billion by volume dry (ppbvd) formaldehyde limit, corrected to 15% oxygen.
To help you with your gas turbine tuning and testing needs, McHale has established formaldehyde detection limits as low as 30ppbvd on gas turbines. As the clock is ticking, get yourself scheduled with McHale to get ahead of the EPA deadline.

McHale Environmental Services provides emission testing programs designed to meet each client’s particular needs with experienced and professional emissions measurement teams overseen by a staff with over 40 years of experience in the source testing industry… including both domestic and international testing projects.
