Thermal (ATC-105)

McHale has been a Licensed CTI Thermal Testing Agencies since 2006.  We are committed to this program within CTI to provide independent third-party testing; to assure both owner and manufacturer that the personnel conducting the test are qualified and impartial; that the test is being conducted in full compliance with the intent of the Code; that the correct, calibrated instrumentation is being used; and that there is a consistent effort toward the use of advanced instrument technologies which offer the potential of improving testing accuracy and reducing testing costs.

As a CTI-licensed testing agency, McHale has worked with cooling tower manufacturers, EPC contractors and plant owners worldwide, including power plants, refineries, paper mills, HVAC applications, processing plants, and factories. The McHale team is known for quick response time, complex solutions in difficult testing situations, and accurate results.

Qualified & Impartial Test Personnel

McHale’s CTI license requires a high standard for lead Thermal testers.  McHale is committed to providing a large staff that meets these requirements as well as internal requirements that exceed those set forth by CTI.  This is done to provide the highest quality of testing and schedule flexibility available.

Code Compliant & Calibrated Test Equipment

McHale has a complement of test equipment designed to augment our Thermal testing services, so as to improve the uncertainty of thermal testing necessary to meet the desired confidence of the ATC-105 code requirements, contractual acceptance and/or routine status testing.

CTI STD-201

Thermal Certification (STD -201)

The STD-201 Thermal Certification Program from the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) is applicable to the thermal performance of a manufacturer’s product line where all of the models have the same basic design and only differ in relative size. If a manufacturer has several basic designs, each basic design must be separately certified and issued a separate certification approval letter and separate CTI Certification Validation Number.

With the purchase of a “certified” model, the Owner/Operator has an assurance that the tower will perform as specified. Either that model or one within its model line, will have been thoroughly tested by McHale Performance for Certification and found to perform as claimed by the Manufacturer.
